From Revolution to Evolution: The Fishery and Aquaculture Market in a Post COVID-19 World


EUMOFA invites you to join the next EUMOFA Talk, which will be held in person on 26 April 2022, 12.45 CET at the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona, Spain. The topic will be “From Revolution to Evolution: The Fishery and Aquaculture Market in a Post COVID-19 World”

The event will foster discussions on how COVID-19 has posed many challenges to the seafood sector, but opened new opportunities at the same time. EUMOFA has gathered a high-level panel of both policy makers and business professionals to discuss new business opportunities, emerging markets, changes in consumer behavior and new factors to penetrate the markets, after two years in the pandemic.

The event will be held in English and moderated by Alessandro Pititto, from EUMOFA team. A Q&A session is planned for the end of the talk, which will be an opportunity for the audience to debate and exchange points of view with the speakers.

The panel members will include:

  • Christophe Vande Weyer, Policy Officer – Markets at the European Commission, Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries
  • Audun Lem, Deputy Director of the Fisheries Division at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
  • Esben Sverdrup-Jensen, President at the European Association of Fish Producers Organisations (EAPO)
  • Roberto Alonso, Adjunct Secretary General at ANFACO-CECOPESCA

For those who cannot attend, the talk will be recorded and will be available on the EUMOFA website.

The EUMOFA team will be also on hand throughout the three-day expo at its stand (#3G100, Hall 3) to offer practical demonstrations on how to access data and key information on the European fisheries and aquaculture market available on its website.
